Blender 2.5 - Alpha 1. update

And then Blender 2.5 Alpha 1. hits the streets with features like:
Some of the most significant changes from alpha 0 to alpha one is the sculpt mode that you can achieve up to 45 million polygons (as opposed to a few 100 thousands before) where you can sculpt with ease, that is - if you own an Nvidia card that does have the best OpenGL hardware support.
There's also quite a few new paint features, where you can paint with textures directly onto your sculpture, either as texture imprints or as 3D changes directly onto your mesh, that is pretty nifty.
You can also paint with procedureals as well as images directly onto your UV map as well as directly onto your 3D character - that is - if you've done your UV mapping homework properly.
It has over 100's of bugfixes (if you ask me, and not the devs. I'd say it's several 1000's of fixes). but they are as always - pretty darn modest.
Grease pencil has gotten an overhaul too, I suggest you try it out...because it's rather undocumented, but now it also can follow the structure of your mesh, which essentially means you can paint with geometry...directly onto any mesh, and it will follow the shape of the mesh.
And much more...just read the notes in the link above...
And you can of course download Blender 2.5 Alpha 1. Here.
Happy Blendering!
