but can be tested and downloaded at sites like GrapicAll.org, also be aware that Blender 2.5 is not fully completed yet and may miss features you currently had in 2.49b!

Enjoy!

Lesson 1:

The User Interface

This is how Blender 2.5 looks for now, this can change any time, but it's pretty safe to assume the functions will be the same, so your knowledge and most of what you learn here - will be good to know.

Right now, we haven't configured our user interface, but we need to learn how to navigate properly before we can go ahead and learn anything else, if you skip this part - learning 3D will be really hard, because learning to navigate in 2D & 3D is essential to how we work in any 3D software, you need to feel comfortable to have a good time learning all the things you can do with this magnificent piece of software.

You use the MIDDLE mouse (usually the scrollwheel) to rotate the viewport (that's the 3D-grid you see in the middle window). You have to press it to rotate it, if you just scroll with the scrolling wheel then you zoom in and out. If you place the arrow (mouse marker) above a menu, you'll scroll the
windows up and down (if there are more menues hidden), if you don't have a scroll wheel, you can just press the middle mousebutton to do the same thing.

On the next page, we'll learn how to make more windows the easy way.
